  1. Disappointing. It was not working when it arrived. Nice and compact, software easy to understand. Failed to play back tunes. D.O.A.!

  2. Had to give it one star only because it wasn’t possible to give it no stars. I had really high hopes when it arrived, it was very cute, it just wouldn’t work at all. I followed the instructions and tried letting it charge overnight before attempting to transfer any data, but it wouldn’t charge. Amazon was great about the return and refund though.

  3. horrible horrible the battery dies after 40 minutes of swimming….a big frustration….do not buy this…..also you can not put songs from ituneson it because they cant be formatted correctly….do not buy this….just get a waterproof case for the ipod…..goood luck

  4. I have had this product for a few months now. I bought it because I saw someone at the pool with one who told me they are good and reliable as long as you don’t expect bose quality sound. I just wanted something to jam to while doing laps. I love it, but I also know it has some limitations (see below)

The first few times I used it, I had to figure out how to flip turn with it so that I didn’t create too much force and have it fly out of my ear or fill with water. After about a month, I was having minimal sound problems.

Here’s the deal with ANY underwater music…IT’S ALL ABOUT THE HEADPHONES.

I had to use the larger wider set of ear plugs so that I could get a good seal in my ears. Every so often, I will still have one ear go quiet because water gets in between the speaker on the earphone and my eardrum.

The software is very easy to use, but you have to make sure to “set new order” anytime you make changes or it will not accept new music or new arrangements. I like that the only time it restarts from the beginning of your playlist is when you make changes through the software. Otherwise it picks up where you left off.

I do wish there was a shuffle function, but I just do it manually

If you are the kind of person who is goign to keep your head above water all the time, I don’t think you will ever have issues with the headphones filling up, but if you are a serious swimmer doing laps, it is possible so don’t get mad if it happens because the product isn’t foolproof

    GOOD LUCK

  5. I have been using the Aquabeat for almost a year now. The player works well for a basic player. Sound quality is a bit tinny. This is due to the poor quality of the headphones. The first pair arrived defective (almost no sound out of the left channel). Amazon Promptly replaced the entire unit. I have had intermittent failures throughout the year mostlty due to corrosion on the headphone connectors (isn’t this supposed to be waterproof?). Last week the left headphone speaker went dead. I tried to call Aquabeat Speedo – after two disconnected numbers and one number being a fax only line – I sent an e-mail to customer service. They stated that the headphones were only warranted for 90 days. The only literature I received with the device states that it has a one year limited warranty. (I now what the “Limited” stands for). I enjoy having some music while swimming and thought this system would last longer than one year. I only do lap/leisure swimming and am old enough not to be abusing the headphones (keep them stored in a bag when not using, rinse after every use, never dropped). I have decided to keep the player and purchase different headphones (H2O Surge) along with a 2 year free replacement contract from Best Buy. I would not recommend the Aquabeat or its next generation if they don’t improve the headphones.
