Although the sound is not what you would expect from larger, more balanced speakers (but look at this little guy, and the price, so why would you?), this item really has good sound. A little “tinny”, but lots better than my laptop speakers and I also use my Sony MP3 player with it. I like the fact that it doesn’t need batteries and has only one connection cord– easy! But as one reviewer mentioned, be careful when you first unfold them. Once you are used to the way this works it will seem easy, but I can see how it may be possible to break it the first time.

These speakers worked very well for the price. I am very happy with my purchase. The loudness of the music or audio book that I play depends on how loud the original is. If I have a song on my MP3 player that has a good sound value to which it will play just fine with these speakers. It’s very convenient to take with me — it fits in my purse or pocket easily. It is extremely convenient. It’s not as loud as a boombox but for a small speaker that you can take anywhere it’s great. I’ve been using it for about two months.

I ordered this for desk use in my office cubicle, and intend to play on low-volume, and purchased one for my husband (same intended use), as well. We were both shocked upon the arrival of our Sony Compact and Slim Travel Speaker for iPod and MP3 Players! I expected something light-weight & flimsy (easily breakable), but they are quality devices, very easy to use, and very good quality for our intended use. We love that there is no power used with this device — just as one’s earphones would use no power. sound is not better than my notebook’s sound and cable is kind short. Kind of disappointed and returned it.

I have used a couple of different portable speakers for my mp3 player and this is hands down the best. The others were all battery powered. The batteries added to the weight and the speaker always got left on and ruined new batteries. This one does not require batteries.

It folds up in to a thin unit and is great for my suitcase.

It was cheap enough that I bought two and keep one in my suitcase.
