This song is sweet. It is pretty musically, vocally, and lyrically. Technically, the accoustic guitar is bad form as it squeeks along the fretboard in the final 30″. But otherwise the guitar is nice and so is the orchestration. And her singing is very pleasant.
This song was a free download from Amazon.com and I figured why not. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this young lady could sing and enjoyed the lyrics of the song as well.
While her voice isn’t anything spectacular in itself, her `voice’ is a welcome addition to my personal music catalogue. What I mean is that the artist that is Erin McCarley is a bright young star who has major potential, and all of that can be heard in this beautiful acoustic version of `Pitter-Pat’.
I am a sucker for anything acoustic, and so I was thrilled to see this was a freebee here. I anxiously downloaded this track and instantly feel in love. Like I mentioned, as have others, Erin’s voice isn’t anything remarkable, or anything so distinct that you have to sit up and pay attention. It is nice and soothing, but nothing special. STILL, this song is a beautiful lullaby of sorts with intelligent and meaningful lyrics that are as close to poetry as they come. Through her words, Erin bares her soul. You can really feel how close she feels to the subject presented here, and that makes this song a standout, where it could have easily become almost forgettable. Not only is her voice nothing special, but the musical arrangement is not outstanding either. It is simple and sweet, but not achingly memorable.
BUT, like I said, Erin’s delivery makes it so. Her vulnerable and almost hesitant delivery is subtle and supple and totally entrancing. I can’t wait to hear more from this girl (I need to get her album soon). Until then, I’m happy that this site offered me a small taste of what she has to offer.
This song is relatively nice sounding. It’s not really interesting in any way, and the more I listen, the more this refrain:
“The angel on my shoulder is haunting me tonight, tick-tock the clock is getting louder.”
really annoys me, cause it’s… dumb.

I love this song! Her voice is so pretty, I find myself listening to this song over and over again. Just a great mellow song for relaxing.
