  1. I was on Amazon looking for a MP3 player with video and I ran across the Latte. The product video made it look so good, so I thought I would try. To cut to the chase when I got it I tried to load up the little CD that come with it, and that didn’t go well. I could not read anything in the program it was in another language, well actually a couple of languages. So, I thought no worries maybe it my CPU(it wasn’t), and I will just load up some MP3′s. I cut it on, and I thought the display is kind of cheesy.

After about a week or so of use the bottom heat senor stopped responding, another tale, tale sign! But, I ignored it hoping the problem would fix it’s self. However, about a week later I tried to cut it on, and it would not come on! So, I’m thinking…it just needs to be charged! No problem. So, I try to charge it, and it’s not responding…it doesn’t light up or anything. Needless to say I have returned the above Item to Amazon.

I have been through a few MP3 players, and I have finally decided to stop playing around and get “Top Brass”. Which is of course the Ipod. I got the nano, and it works great. A few more bucks…yes, but at least you have peace of mind that you have a quality product! I am a musician, and I can’t afford to be with out my music!

  2. this unit is good looking but thats it.I’d say don’t buy it it is really hard to use, the touch keys is what attracted me and they are a pain in the butt!!It loads real slow too. Compared to my Sony 8GB Walkman its a piece of junk.

  3. So, I bought this item from ThinkGeek.com instead of here. I got it for about $50 which was amazing considering it has a 2GB storage capacity and can have more with MicroSD cards.

Well, I got it and I plugged it up, charged it for the recommended 12 hours then, I tried loading a video onto it. Now, here is the problem. It only likes it’s certain type of special formatted AVI.

What makes it even worse is their software is utter crap, it takes FOREVER to convert from say FLV to AVI.

So, what I have found is if you run it through an FLV to AVI converter first (Just google “FLV to AVI Converter”) then, it doesn’t take long at all.

Besides the trouble with videos and the silly power button popping out after a week, the thing is great.

It is a great alternative to expensive iPods and in my opinion for the price, it beats those new 4th Gen Nanos.

Think about it, Nanos have maybe 4 to 8GB of memory and that is it. This could have terabytes technically if you had enough SD cards.

    RATINGS:

    Looks: 10/10

Controls: 9/10 (Sometimes you have to press a bit more than you would think with heat sensitive controls)

Video Quality: 9/10 (Sometimes it gets those giant pixel blocks for the first 2 or 3 seconds of the video)

    Sound Quality: 10/10

Overall, for the $50 they are asking, it is worth every bit.

  4. Keep in mind that everyone’s experience is going to be different than mine. Also, bear in mind there are three types of people that write reviews: those who have an agenda, who are narcissistic, or who angry. I hope by understanding that, I can write what is truth.

I did some research on this product before I purchased it. From the other reviews it seemed solid enough. Some people griped about technical follies, misunderstandings, etc. Others, whom seemed technically savvy, reviewed this item and was quite excited about its abilities. I do not know, however, if the review was done by someone who was paid to write it or if it was done by someone who truly used and liked the product.

All-in-all the product sucked. I have a Mac network (PowerBook, iBook, & Mac Mini). The reviews state it works on a Mac. It does not work on a Mac. At all.

I followed the directions, FAQs, troubleshooting guide, but I could not even get the buttons to function (the entire device relies on the heat sensor buttons to function). The troubleshooting guide stated this was “normal.” Why would you buy something that stated non-functionality was “normal?”

    Dumb.

If you truly want a solid MP3 player, you will more than likely want to purchase one that is a little more expensive and is more popular, such as the iPod or Zune.

“You get what you pay for” is a cliche’ for a reason.

  5. I love this mp4 player I use it everday and have had no problems out of it. Easy to use and operate. Also easy to download your itmes to it.
