I want to replace the battery of my Zune 120gb, does it require any soldering, or simply opening it up and clicking it in place?

The batteries are so cheap we would recommend replacing. They are only $14.99 on the RepairsUniverse (dot) com web site for a high capacity replacement.
Can anyone comment on whether I should replace my battery or just plan on getting a newer one soon?
I hear Microsoft is going to stop updating the 30’s soon.
I use it for primarily music. I generally played it for 3-9 hours a day. About 10min to 2 hours of video a week.
…Now I think about it, I got to get me a GF…I spend too much time wrapped up in my own though of mind doing nothing but playing sum covers for songs and listening to the damn thing.
my zune 30g lasted about 3 years after constant use and probably would continue working(but i lost it=( )
idk how the zune 120g holds its life however
i would just buy a hard case and wait for the day i need to change the battery and buy one of microsoft and put it in myself
I have the best buy plan they don’t replace the battery they replace the Zune all together. I have had the 30 and 120 both replaced there in the store.
I just got a 120gb a month ago. Best Buy told me that the battery will not last much more than a year and that it will cost about $80 to have Microsoft replace it each time, and suggested I get a two year service plan for $70, which would take care of two battery replacements and cover any damage due dropping, water, etc. Could someone tell me if the plan is a good idea or a waste of money (as many service plans are)? I got the same problem 1 week ago…if you got the frozen screen, dont charge anymore the device and then the screen will have the low batery sign and then try to waste the batery life til the end, til you press any botton and the device dont response, then charge it it supposed to work because it resets automaticaly
one day i charged my zune i didnt use it at all the whole day then i watched about half a episode of family guy and it went dead, now it isnt charging, whenever i try to charge it the charge sign comes up for about a second and then just dissapears also it doesnt switch on. any suggestions please message me any suggestions will be appreciatted..

I got my zune from a friend, and I’m pretty sure it’s not 3 years old but the battery won’t last much… barely an hour and it’s starting to annoy me =(
I found one on amazon for about 20 bucks that came with the tools and everything. Works perfectly.

Hey mylastproduction, how often do you use your Zune? and do you use it primarily for music or video?
Had mine almost 4 years and just a couple days ago the battery died…
Waste man. You can buy a replacement for like 20 bucks and replace it yourself.

Thanks for the input, but it’s a moot point now; it’s beyond the point where it’s still an option.

by reboot do you mean restart the computer or erase the hard drive and re-install zune software??
reboot ur computer and then reconnect it… i did that cuz i had that same thing happen to me and it worked
