I liked Brooke White when she was a finalist on American Idol. I’ve not heard this song on the radio, but I’m happy I took advantage of the free download of this song. Brooke’s voice sounds good and it’s a nice song.
Before I got the free download via Amazon, I had no idea who this artist was. I do not watch American Idol as a general rule, so that certainly was not a factor for me. The vocals are gentle, light, and clear. The lyrics and melody are memorable – which are all the makings of a good pop tune. I have to say that because of it I am definitely interested in downloading more of her work.
Acoustic guitars and synthesizer give a full, almost orchestra-like, sound. 3/4 time. Mellow vocals with backing. Pleasant tune. Repetitive vocals. Nice enough.
Brooke’s pre-American Idol album shows how much she deserves to be recognized. A unique voice from a warm personality and gigantic heart, all of which show through. “Follow me” is one of the better songs on the album, with lyrics that are both approachable in the pop music sense, and haunting as well.
