Great product would recommend it to anyone. No need to use my Ipod touch anymore. The recorder works great, video is clean and clear. I can go on N on but bottom line its a great player.
Only reason I was buying this is because of the FM transmitter. But it hisses all the time and the sound quality is not where it should be. Even the radio sounds clearer which is sad considering it catches signals further than your mp3 player just sitting right next to the antenna in the car.
Even if it didn’t have a FM Transmitter, the file tagging and the interface is just horrible. It looks like it was one of those chinese knockoffs.
The style of the mp3 player is fine, I like that it was touch screen.
I am going with a Apple 30GB 5th generation, even if doesn’t have a FM transmitter.
This was the second Archos 3 I had ordered–the first one had extensive Newton Rings (the glass was warped and made the screen look like an oil slick), right out of the box. So the first one was sent back, and this second product arrived with only minor Newton Rings on the screen, so I just stuck on a screen protector and kept using it–as I understand it, this is a common problem with touch screens and it was minor enough not to interfere with video watching. After about two weeks the screen started giving completely random responses…the back button would adjust the volume, the volume wheel would skip tracks or power down, etc. Returned under warranty for full refund, looking at the Sony Walkman mp3/mp4 players.
Good little player, needs a little GUI help. Wall paper function resets when player is powered off. Documentation with unit is lacking basic function overview. Video quality is great(one thing I noticed that older videos that play well on my older Archos products might need to be re-encoded at the max resolution of this device) I noticed some twitchy video play back when playing old movies. After I re-encoded videos they seem to run better now. Overall a great first Video MP3 player for my kids.

CONS:
-On Screen Volume Control-hard to control
-Hold switch becomes unresponsive at times
-no short cut for “now playing”
